Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014

By on

2013 was my first year of blogging.  I recently celebrated my blogiversary.  Looking back is always nice and sentimental.  So for the sake of sentimentality I have looked back at the year that was.

The start of the year I obviously decided to go all gung-ho into this blogging lark.  There seemed to be a lot of children’s bodily functions going on with poo in the bath and wee in the bed! A bang on the head of my little man and it wasn’t any wonder I needed a day away from the kids.

February saw some quiet contemplation and a big decision to take a career break that has influenced the whole year thereafter.

March I was in holiday mode.  Thinking about where to go come summer but packing up for our Easter break.  Seems like a lifetime ago now.

April was quiet on the blog.  I managed a day off and looked forward to a taste of what was to come once my career break commenced.

May saw a bout of sickness.  It is not easy when mammy gets sick.  On the positive we managed to get my son, who had been totally anti passport photos to get his photos taken and to get the passport.  A holiday would be had!

June saw a large hangover as I approached the final hurdle and finished up in work to commence my career break.  Kids and hangovers are never pretty.  At this point I was WIPE’D out and really welcomed the start of my career break.

July I was finally off.  There were lots of activities and fun in sun.

August I got to enjoy a fabulous 2 weeks in Tenerife.  Lovely family time but still managed two blog marches.  One on Breastfeeding and one on Back to School costs.  There was also a visit from the Tooth Fairy.

September saw my declaration of my status as an Apple Parent and I contemplated my own Online Life.  There were trips to the Library and another visit from the Tooth Fairy.

October was a good month with two of my most popular posts.  My review of the Touch ‘n’ Sing app and my Guide to C-Sections.  It was National Breastfeeding week and I managed to take part in another blog march as well as contemplate all the highs and lows of having a toddler.

By November, and the time of year that was in it I focused on those nasty bugs that can attack with hopefully some helpful tips to survive them.  I got delivery of my First Kiss Mandala – a piece of artwork I had been contemplating buying for a long time.

December and it was all systems go for Christmas (and celebrating my daughter’s birthday).

We have now entered a New Year 2014 and I am looking forward to even more for Learner Mama.  I hope that you will continue on this journey as I learn my lessons in motherhood.

Happy New Year Everyone!
