Looking after mum too: A little giveaway with Pregnacare [Giveaway closed]

By on

When I became a mum for the first time the last person on my mind was myself.  I had this new tiny person to take care of and looking after myself seemed lower down the list of priorities.  However, I recently attended a media event which actively promoted the idea that new mums should be absolutely looking after themselves.  At the end of the day if you don’t look after yourself you won’t have the energy and ability to look after your new baby.  Clearly with hindsight this makes total sense.  In my case I was also recovering from major surgery having had a C-section.  If anyone else has major surgery they put their feet up and take care of themselves.

Research commissioned by Pregnacare New Mum, launched by TV personality Jennifer Maguire, has found that only 25% of new mums reported looking after their own health and well-being after the birth of their child.

As well as Jennifer Maguire there was a great panel to talk about new mum health and well-being.  Paula Mee, Consultant Dietician explained the nutrients required to remain healthy particularly post-partum, Niamh O’Reilly, author, sleep expert at The Nursery and all round baby and childcare guru spoke about the importance of getting adequate sleep and trying not to stress out about getting baby into a routine in the first few weeks and finally Elaine Butler-Doolin, founder of Bespoke Beauty, spoke about skin and hair care and keeping them healthy with the right nutrients, even if you don’t have time for full on salon pampering.

Vitabiotics have introduced a new supplement to the market specifically designed with new mums in mind. So if you don’t manage to cook that healthy meal, you are feeling a bit sleep deprived and your skin and hair are feeling neglected why not supplement what you are missing with Pregnacare New Mum.
