Babytalk Festival 2014 (GIVEAWAY CLOSED)

The whole basis for my blog is that unfortunately Mother Nature didn’t leave a manual. The world of parenting is complex. There are massive learning curves along the way. Not just during pregnancy or the initial newborn phase – every stage of parenthood brings new challenges, questions and learning.

In the hope that some of the challenges and questions of being pregnant and being a parent can be addressed The Babytalk Festival, a new Pregnancy and baby festival, is due to take place on February 22nd and February 23rd 2014 in O’Reilly Hall, UCD in Dublin, Ireland.

The creators and festival directors are Rachel and Marie who are from Curious Design an event, graphic and web design company.

They have focused on the theme that information is power and want to promote clear and unbiased information for the parents of Ireland. What parent or parent to be doesn’t need that?

The festival will feature over 50 exhibitors, a series of talks from expert speakers, music and comedy including Ireland’s got mammies comedy show with the comedian behind @irishmammies Colm O’Regan and there is plenty to keep the kids entertained with a playarea, face painting as well as reading and story telling.

There will be product and service demonstrations including a baby sign and baby sling demonstration. The dads won’t be left out either with Daniel Oakes, midwife there too to provide information for Irish daddies. There will be goody bags to take away during the festival too.

With so many online parenting support groups and communities about these days the festival are also catering for real life meet ups. Any group can contact the festival organisers to avail of this opportunity. Where better for parenting groups to meet then at a pregnancy and baby festival. I certainly hope to catch some of my fellow Irish Parenting Bloggers at the event.

Car parking (and buggy parking) will be available at the event which will run from 10am to 5pm each day.

To get your tickets you can book online at the event website www.babytalkfestival.ie. Prices are:

€10 for single day pass
€15 for weekend pass
Children and Grandparents go free!

The lovely people at Babytalk festival have given me tickets for the event and I thought that maybe one of my lovely readers would like to get their hands on a pair of weekend passes. If you would like to win them just put your name in the proverbial pot via the Rafflecopter form below to be in with a chance. The more options you choose to enter the more chance of winning. Winner will be announced on the 2nd February after the rafflecopter closes. While the competition is open to all to avail of the prize you will need to be in Dublin the weekend of the festival.

Good luck and hopefully see you at the festival as I certainly won’t be missing it!
